Sharon Olds was born in 1942.  That would make her 67 years old some time this year.  She was born in SanFrancisco, CA.  She is a popular poet and writes about family turmoil, war, political prisoners, and speaks in very blunt and harsh, sometimes profane language.  Her most recent work was "Strike Sparks: Selected Poems, 1980-2002" and is a modern poetry collection of the human experiences.  Her poetry is not for everyone because of its type of language and sometimes sexual topics, but for the mature reader there is a great deal to be gained from this author.
