I was born just 20 miles from Daytona Beach (in DeLand), but I've never made the drive to Jersey from there. We did drive from Gainesville to New York City one time, however. The distance is about 850-900 miles, depending upon what part of New Jersey you will be heading. So, if you drive straight through with only gas and food stops, it will take you a minimum of 12-13 hours of driving time if you average 70 miles per hour. Figure at least 15 hours for the trip, assuming you have no traffic jams or delays due to accidents, etc. It's a straight shot up I-95.
