How have interpretations of Othello and its characters changed throughout history?
There are two groups I'd like to revolve around.
1) Audiences. How would the audiences' viewpoints of Othello and its characters have differed throughout time?
2) Directors of successive Othello plays, films and TV series. How would the directors portrayals of Othello have differed throughout time.
Are there any major trends in these interpretations throughout history? e.g. Racism (Elizabethan audiences would have condoned Othello and Desdemona's marriage but modern audiences do not)
Hey, I understand this is a hard question, but any thoughts, even a sentence would be sooo apreciated! =)
This 'answer' above makes no sense at all whatsoever.
