Caboto and Verranzo are different for several reasons. Caboto was born earlier and made his first navigation exploration in 1497. Verranzo was born about 1485 and made his first navigation exploration in the 1520s, about forty years after Caboto. In addition, Caboto sailed for England's Henry VII while Verranzo later sailed for France's Francis I. Cabot landed on New Foundland in what is today Canada while Verranzo landed near Cape Fear in North Carolina of today's the United States and later discovered what is now New York Harbor.
