In Brave New World, the youthfulness of the members of the New World keeps them actively engaged in the consumerism that sustains Aldous Huxley's dysutopia.  When the people reach termination--as they can remain youthful only so long--they are recycled as gases, so even then they are useful.

Children are brought to the hospital where people die and allowed to play around them so that death becomes inconsequential.  In addition, when the Deltas playing around Linda see her, they are terrified and repulsed by her ugliness.

The attractiveness of the higher castes as opposed to those of the lower keeps the castes separate, as well.  The men, for instance, are attracted to Lenina, whom they describe as "pneumatic."  And, because her comfort and physicality is what attracts them to her, not any intrinsic beauty or personality, there is little danger of her not belonging to others, thus perpetuating the philosophy of "everyone belongs to everyone" which eliminates individuality and maintains "control."  A youthful appearance also eliminates much of individuality since one's character often shows up in his/her face as he/she ages.
