In general, training and education will improve productivity because they will make workers better able to do their jobs.

With training, the connection is clear.  A worker who has been trained on the proper use of a machine, for example, will use it well and will work quickly.  This will increase productivity.

With education, the connection might be less clear because school does not typically teach a person how to do a specific job.  However, more educated people are generally better able to think and will therefore bring a more thinking approach to their job.  They might understand their job rather than simply doing what they are told.  This allows them to work more efficiently and productively.
