How does the chorus describe Samson?
The chorus of Hebrew elders comes to see Samson in his prison cell. While there, they describe him in terms of what he was and what he now is. The general idea is that he had once been mighty but was now brought down to a very pathetic state.
They say that he used to be the mightiest man in Israel, that he used to be its glory but that now he had become its grief. He is described as someone who is wounded (both physically and emotionally) and needs to be healed.
