Although there are no specific dates in this story, it definitely has a specific order of events within the plot. You will want to start your timeline with information or events for Emily's youth and end it with the events occurring shortly after her death. This is not necessarily the order you will find the events within the story, but the order which they occured in time. This type of literary timeline is different from one you might write for a history class because you will be using specific events without their corresponding dates. Simply select the important plot points and place them on your timeline in order (order of occurrence not order of appearance in the story).
