Solar energy including light and heat from the sun is a renewable resource and only a small portion of the available energy is harnessed. Solar energy is limited by the technology that is available to harness it. Currently, solar panels may be expensive to install for some people. Also, depending on the geographic location of the area in question, solar energy may be feasible or not. Obviously, the closer one is to the equator, the more hours of insolation would be available for solar energy technologies. Also, if several cloudy days in a row occur, this would interfere with the collection of solar energy and its storage and use for electrical generation, home heating, etc.
