Just to be sure that I correctly understand what you are asking -- this equation is T divided by 4 is greater than 8 right? If so, here is how you would get this done.

First, just remember that this is really no different than the solution would be if there were an equal sign there rather than a greater than sign.

So what you have to do is isolate the variable on one side of the equation. To do that in this case, all you do is multiple both sides by 4. You do that because 4 * T/4 is T.

So when you do that to both sides, you get

T > 32.

To check that, put in some number smaller than 32 for T and see if the statement is true.

31/4 > 8? No, it's not.

33/4 >8? Yes it is.

So T is greater than 32.

To solve T/4 > 8.

Solution:

T/4 > 8, given OK

T/4 >8, Given OK

T/4 > 8, given OK

T/4 >8 ,given OK

What is the result of adding four inequalities? See here.

T/4+T/4+T/4+T/4 > 8+8+8+8

Four timesT/4 > Four times 8.

T > 32. That is, T has a value greater than 32.
