If there are 14 boys and 10 girls in a class, the ratio of boys to girls is
14 : 10 = 7 : 5
The total number of students in a class would be 14 + 10 = 24.
Then, the fraction of boys in a class is `14/24 = 7/12.`
The fraction of girls in a class is `10/24 = 5/12.`
In other words, the ratio of boys to girls is 7:5, the ratio of boys to all students is 7:12 and the ratio of girls to all students is 5:12.
If you are looking for the fraction, or ratio, of boys to girls in the classroom it would be 14:10 or 14/10. However, you are looking for the fractions that compare the number of boys and girls to the whole class, you will need to separate fractions.
14 boys / 24 total students = 7/12 boys
10 girls / 24 total students = 5/12 girls
14 and 10
14/10 would be the ratio of boys to girls
24 students in total so the fraction of boys in the class:14/24 simplified to 7/12
fraction of girls in the class:10/24 simplified to 5/12
14/24=7/12 boys to entire class
10/24=5/12 girls to entire class
14/10=7/5 boys to girls
10/14=5/7 girls to boys
Well 14 and 10 are both divisible by 2, find the LCM first and since it is 2 divide by 2
14/2=7 10/2=5 therefore there are 7boys:5girls or 7:5
14 and 10 are both divisible by 2 so their simple form are
7 and 5
if you add 14 and 10 to get the total number of students you end up with 24.
24 is also divisible by 2 and you end up with 12. The fraction form will be
`7/(12)` for boys and `5/(12)` for the girls.
How do you find the fraction of a class if there are 14 boys and 10 girls?
Total Boys = 14
Total Girls = 10
Total students in class = 14 + 10 = 24
Fraction of boys in the class = ?
Fraction of Girls in the class = ?
Fraction of boys in class = 14/24
Fraction of boys in class = 7 : 12
Fraction of girls in class = 10/24
Fraction of girls in class = 5 : 12
Fraction of boys in class = 7:12
Fraction of girls in class = 5:12
