To divide fractions, multiply by the reciprocal of the divisor, the second fraction.

`2/3-: 7/9`

` ` `2/3* 9/7`

` `Multiply numerators and denominators, then simplify.

`(2*9)/(3*7) = 18/21`

Now simplify by dividing both numerator and denominator by greatest common facor, 3.

`18/21 = 6/7`

The solution is `6/7.`

Dividing by fraction `a/b` is the same as multiplying by reciprocal value of that fraction `b/a.`

`a/b:c/d=a/b*d/c`

So in your case you have

`2/3:7/9=2/3*9/7=(2*9)/(3*7)=18/21`

If we divide both numerator and denominator by 3 we get

`6/7` <--Your solution

The other way to do this is to write this as a double fraction

`(2/3)/(7/9)`

Now, to get numerator you multiply the outer numbers and to get denominator you multiply the inner numbers. Of course your result is the same `6/7.`

QUESTION:-

2/3 by 7/9

SOLUTION:-

We have to solve

`2/3 by 7/9 = (2/3)/(7/9)`

For dividing both fractions, we must follow the rule i.e.,

When two fractions are given to divide, we have to change the division sign into multiplication sign and for that the fraction in denominator is flipped upside down and as a result the sign of division turns into multiplication, like this;

2/3 by 7/9

2/3 : 7/9

Division changed to multiplication when fractions are flipped;

2/3 * 9/7

(2*9) / (3*7)

18 / 21

6/7 OR 0.86

Hence Solved!

The answer of the above problem is 0.86 in decimal form and  6/7 in fraction form.

2/3 divided by 7/9

In order to solve this we need to convert the division between both fractions to multiplication, to do that the second fraction needs to be changed from 7/9 to 9/7, this will change division to multiplication and you'll be able to solve it.

2/3 * 9/7

= 18/27

= 6/7 or 0.86 Answer.

When dividing 2 fractions you have to take the recipricol of the second fraction and change the division sign to a multiplication sign (taking the recipricol is basically flipping it)

2/3*9/7

2*9=18

3*7=21

18/21 which can be simplified to 6/7 if you divide the top and bottom by 3

How do you divide 2/3 by 7/9

when you divide a faction you flip the second fraction

`2/3 * 9/7`

`18/21`

`6/7`
