`sqrt24 `

`= sqrt(4*6)`

`= sqrt4*sqrt6`

`= 2sqrt6`


Our question is simplifying `4+-sqrt24/2`


`= 4+-(2sqrt6)/2`

`= 4+-sqrt6`


So the answer is `4+-sqrt6`



If your question is` (4+-sqrt24)/2`


`= (4+-2sqrt6)/2`

`= 4/2+-2sqrt6/2`

`= 2+-sqrt6`


So answer is `2+-sqrt6`

To reduce `sqrt24` , we need to factor 24 which is `24=2 times 2 times 2 times 3`.  Since the square root of a square is the number, we can simplify a bit.


`=sqrt{2 times 2 times 2 times 3}`

`=sqrt{4 times 6}`

`=sqrt4 sqrt 6`


This means that `(4-sqrt24)/2` becomes `(4-2sqrt6)/2`  which is `2-sqrt6` .

Well I got the answer...


(4+√24) / 2         =       2+√6


Still not really clear on how to reduce the square root of 24 properly, if anyone cares to help explain it would be much appreciated xD
