Not all nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) do enhance globalization. Instead, there are some that try to combat it. There are NGOS that feel that globalization is hurting people in developing countries. They try to prevent things like the influx of multi-national corporations into such countries. These NGOs do not enhance or support globalization.
However, there are NGOs that do support globalization in some ways. For example, there are NGOs that support the idea of globalization of certain values. These are NGOs such as Amnesty International that are trying to ensure that governments in all countries will act according to what they, the NGOs, feel are universal values.
There are also NGOs that try to build things like infrastructure in developing countries. These are NGOs that try to improve education and sanitation and transparent governance. All of these kinds of developments would help to promote globalization because they would increase the developing nations’ chances of taking part in a globalized economy. In these ways, we can say that at least some NGOs do promote or enhance globalization, even if this is not true of all NGOs.
