This is going to be fun.  The music video culture and the notion of a music video contributes to dualism because it creates the divide between what is seen and what is experienced in real life.  The world of a music video is usually developed in stark contrast to what real life actually offers.  The glamorous and opulent nature of consciousness in music videos is different from the reality that the viewers experience.  In this, dualism is evident in that consciousness is divided within the individual.  The viewer is able to see something that is separate from their own reality.  This helps to create a dualism of longing, seeking to bridge the difference between what is in the video and what is in real life.  This dualism is similar to the mind/ body dualism, where one seeks to transcend the banal nature of one's body.  In this light, music videos cause dualism because it presents a world that cannot be entered, for the most part.  The vast majority of people do not spend their lives as is shown in the standard music video, thereby creating the conditions for dualism where an individual must look at a world that does not resemble their consciousness of being in the world and yet reflect to the extent that it does not.
