How did cosmopolitan civilization (a time of widely shared cultures and lifestyles) develop in a the Middle East?
I believe that this question refers to the Middle East during the late Bronze Age. This period occurs roughly around the dates 1500 to 1200 BCE.
Cosmopolitan civilization emerged in that time and place in much the same way that it emerges anywhere else -- through contacts between peoples of different cultures and lifestyles. In this case, the contacts came mainly due to trade. Traders from the various states would interact with each other and with the people of the states they visited. This allowed cultural traits to be shared between people from different countries.
