There are various methods of looking at one's self-concept and attempting to build positive feelings about oneself. One of the first decisions you need to make is whether how you want to do so.
Possibly the easiest way to enhance your self-concept would be to focus attention on others and activities they can not do as well as you can. By making yourself appear superior to those around you, your self-esteem and self-concept should rise. This is the type of syndrome frequently recognized in bullies, for example, who downgrade others in order to make themselves feel more important and powerful.
Self-concept can be enhanced by choosing to focus on personal positive qualities rather than weaknesses. Feelings about yourself can be enhanced by engaging in activities that allow you to feel you have accomplished something that is worthwhile and of value, whether to society as a whole or to you personally. If your self-concept is heavily influenced by physical traits such as hair color or weight, you can choose to change this characteristic to one you would find more appealing.
