What you need to do first if group like terms, that means that we need to combine terms with x together and consant terms togther:

To do so, we need to group 4x and 3x by moving 3x to the left side.

To move 3x we will subtract 3x from both sides:

==> 4x - 3x = 3x + 4 -3x

You notice that 3x will be eliminated from right sides. And for the left side we will get x

To find x.

4x = 3x+4

Subtract 3x from both sides:

4x-3x = 3x+4-3x

x = 3x-3x+4

x = 4.
