A quick addition: read Balzac's Pere Goriot for wonderful descriptions of 19th century Paris!

Since you submitted this question to the Essay Lab, you must have an assignment requiring you to be descriptive regarding the scenery in Paris. It would be helpful to know more about the length or other requirements of your assignment.

Perhaps you could approach this as if you were writing a travelogue to entice tourists thinking about visiting Paris. There are numerous websites available regarding noted parks, museums, churches, and other picturesque sites in Paris. Start out by choosing the areas you want to feature in your essay, possibly using a map of Paris to plan the itinerary so you had some order and organization for your trip.

After viewing pictures and/or videos of the areas you have chosen, start writing your essay. If you want an example of how a tour describes the stops it will be making, these are also easy to access from the internet. The Paris Pass link below might be another help in choosing places to visit and an order for seeing them.

Sounds like a fun assignment! Dream a little while you're being descriptive - imagine yourself doing the tour!
