I'm sorry you are sick! Colds are usually caused by a virus from the rhinovirus group, which specifically infect the linings of the upper respiratory system. There are no real cures, natural or otherwise, for rhinoviruses, but there are things you can do to support your natural healing process and feel better sooner.

It is important to stay well hydrated, so that the secretions in your respiratory tract stay thin, which makes it easier for your body to push the mucus out. Drink plenty of fluids. As the post above suggests, eating hot soup or beverages or spicy foods can also help drain secretions. This is important, as thickening of the mucus can lead to a sinus infection. If the air in your home is dry, you may benefit from steam inhalation or a nasal wash. You can find instructions for doing both at this link.

Getting plenty of sleep is also a good suggestion. We do most of our healing when we are asleep, and missing sleep can actually suppress your immune system.

In the future, remember that many cold viruses get into our bodies when we touch our faces or eyes. If you can train yourself to keep your hands away from your face, and wash your hands regularly, you can avoid colds more effectively.

Colds are a nature sickness throughout times and though medication and creams are created for this, some amounts of people perfer natural cure rather than other helpings.

Suggestions toward Cold Remedies:

- Water and more of other fluids

- Chicken soup

- Salt water

Water and other fluids, help to loosen congestion and prevents dehydration. Salt water, a decent amount of 1/4 to1/2 teaspoon in salt while being dissolved thanks to a eight once glass of warm water. Relieves a sore or scratchy throat. And soup, people generally prefer this because it taste like "grandma's home cooking" and feels like "home security" which is why many people will in general prefer this. Chicken soup should provide much help mainly due to its possible anti inflammatory and mucus thinning effects.
