I think this question could be interpreted in two different ways. If the question is asking about how the power dynamics work differently between Kevin and Dana across the two time periods, then I would have to say that the power dynamic doesn't really shift. In both time periods, Kevin is a very genuine, understanding, empathetic, and supportive partner to Dana. Simply because he is a white man that goes back in time to a period where slavery existed doesn't turn him into an oppressive, demanding lover like Rufus. I might be able to support that the power dynamic changed slightly more in Kevin's favor because society prevents Dana from talking to Kevin the way that she would in the present day.

This question also might be asking about how Kevin's power and Dana's power changed due to going back in time. This is a much easier compare and contrast. Kevin is a white person, and Dana is a black person. In the present, that makes less of a difference in how each of them operates in and among society. Dana and Kevin have the same rights under the law. Unfortunately, in the past, Dana has almost all of her societal powers taken away from her. As a black woman, she is viewed as potential property. She has no rights. She shouldn't know how to read. She shouldn't speak unless spoken to, and she can't come and go as she pleases. Her situation is very different than Kevin's position as a white man. Purely because of his skin color, he is allowed to do many of the things that Dana is prevented from doing. Because he is white, he automatically has respect from other white people. That grants him a great deal of power in the past.
