A house anology on cells: what is the equivalent to a ribosome, assuming your house was being remodelled inside?

Usually, when workers are remodelling a house they set up all of their equipment in one particular room.  This room becomes their workspace within the house.  A ribosome is like the worker's workspace within the cell.  The workers bring raw materials into the workspace (wood, nails, paint, etc.) and convert it to a finished product.  The ribosome does the same thing.  The messenger RNA enters the ribosome like the workers and so do various amino acids (raw materials).  The amino acids are then sequenced and joined together to make a finished product (a protein).  This is the best analogy that I can think of.
