Honey has natural antioxidant power. Some people are allergic to it though, so be careful if you have previously had an adverse reaction. Also, be sure the product you ate putting on your skin really is honey, and not a honey-like substance. What is sold in stores is often mostly corn syrup and water.

Honey has been used to treat wounds since antiquity.  Aristotle wrote about people using it in this way around 350 BC.  Modern researchers believe that honey may be good for this because there are antimicrobial properties to it.  It dehydrates bacteria and it is highly acidic.  These properties are believed to make it good for healing things like wounds and sores on the skin.

Besides the nutritional value, honey is a miracle for our skin. Queen Cleopatra herself, who was famous for her beauty, used the properties of honey to keep her skin young.

Considered as the best natural moisturizer, honey is an excellent remedy for dry irritated and sensitive skin. It is also proved to be a good treatment for burns, cracks and even acne. In addition, honey is an important source of antioxidants, that fight against wrinkles.
