I need help with "Romeo and Juliet" book report!
What did you learn from this book?
Tell whether you liked it and why or why not.
Summary of the story beginning mid and end.
Describe the main characters briefly.
You are only supposed to ask one question at a time on Enotes, but I will leave all of yours because I think you can answer each one if you follow a few preliminary steps.
Many students struggle with Shakespeare in general because of the language. He intertwines puns, figures of speech, and humor. This combined with the archaic (outdated) nature of his language, and it is no wonder why modern readers often give up. I encourage you not to give up.
After reading each act of the play, it would be very advantageous for you to read a modern explanation (see the links below). Then, try to jot down in your own words what happened in each section.
This will cover the summary and the character parts of your book report. Then, when you have finished this (it is the bulk of the project), telling what you learned and whether or not you liked the story will be much easier. Because the first two directions are purely based on your opinion, the main thing your teacher will be looking for is understanding of the story. Hopefully by reading the play, reading an analysis, and telling it in your own words, you will gain exactly the understanding you need to write a great book project.
