I have to do a shoe project and picture myself in Aunt Alexandra's shoes.
OK, first of all, I believe you are probably taking your assignment too literally. Nowhere in To Kill a Mockingbird does it mention the type or color of shoes that Alexandra wears, so you need to concentrate on figuratively picturing yourself in her shoes: how she looks, how she talks, how she acts and reacts, and the kinds of things she believes in.
As for Alexandra's appearance,
She was not fat, but solid, and she chose protective garments that drew up her bosom to giddy heights, pinched in her waist, flared out her rear, and managed to suggest that Aunt Alexandra's was once an hourglass figure. From any angle, it was formidable. (Chapter 13)
Alexandra wears the pants (figuratively, certainly not literally) in the family at Finch's Landing. She dominates her hen-pecked husband, Jimmy, who is probably happy to see her leave when she moves in with Atticus. When she arrives in Maycomb, she also tries to dominate the household, but Atticus finally puts his foot down, though it is obvious that he hates to argue with his opinionated sister. Alexandra is not used to being around children; she only had one son, and he "left home as soon as was humanly possible." She believes Atticus has failed at bringing up his children, and she is determined to turn the overalls-wearing Scout into a lady. Alexandra is fanatical on "her preoccupation with heredity," and she believes that the Finch's are heads above all of the other families in Maycomb. She
... had river-boat boarding school manners... (and) she was an incurable gossip... She was never bored, and... she would arrange, advise, caution, and warn. (Chapter 13)
In the later chapters, Alexandra mellows a bit, and after Scout is attacked by Bob Ewell, Alexandra repeatedly calls her "darling," and in a moment of weakness,
Aunty brought me my overalls... handing me the garments she most despised. (Chapter 28)
There is not a description of Aunt Alexandra's shoes in TKAM; however, she probably wore popular shoes of that time. Popular shoes worn by fashionable ladies were often a 2 or 3 inch heel, conservative and did not show much of the foot, and were made of leather. You could probably use some wedges or wide-heeled leather shoes colored dark red or brown.
