1.guilty of serious crime   "of serious crime" is a prepositional phrase where crime is the object of "of".  Out of context, I am uncertain how to categorize this phrase.

2.the little girl next door    This is a noun phrase where "girl" is the noun which is described by both "the" and "little".  "Next" is a preposition which relates the girl with the "door"--the object of the preposition. 3.about what you said       This is a prepositional phrase where "about" is the preposition and "what" is the object of the preposition. 4.a good reason why they failed us     This is a noun phrase.  Good Luck!  I have included some sites that may help you in the future with regard to phrases and clauses.
