I have a very old copy of this book. It does not have a publishing date. How or where can I find the date of my book? The information is: "Elegy written in a Country Churchyard by Thomas Gray. Castell Brothers London. New York E & J Young & Co. Printed in Bavaria. Illustrated by - Percy Tarrant, J H Browne, A W Parsons, A M Clausen & Herbert Dicksee"

If the date is not printed on one of the very first pages of the copy you have, you might be better served at a rare book shop.  I would start first at my local library, and if they can't help, perhaps the librarians can point you in the direction of a local book enthusiast or rare book expert.  If they can not find a date, these people should be able to give you a window of dates in which your copy was published.  You might also search the internet with your book specifications to see if you can find one similar to it.  This would also give you an idea as to the year of publication.

What a great find!  Good Luck!

I would try and look it up online.  There's millions of websites online.  But you might also want to be very cautious.  Since anyone from anywhere can make a website and the information isn't always true.  I would first think of looking of this website by looking with the name.  But i'm not sure what all you will find.  And you might also wanna call a local library.
