Video is encoded to be reduce the but rate required to transfer the same quality image. This is done by using complex algorithms that perform the following basic tasks. A frame is chosen is as the base and broken down in smaller components. All the information required to display the image accurately and without any distortion is coded. Each of the smaller components that the frame can be broken down into is analyzed and information related to changes in these is stored. This decreases the total information that has to be transmitted as not the whole image is altered in each subsequent frame. The HVEC standard for video encoding is more efficient than the H 264 standard. This allows larger and high definition video to be transmitted at a lower bit rate. The algorithm in HVEC is more complex than that used in H 264 but with the increase in the computational ability of computers can be implemented efficiently. The image here is broken down into larger size components and it is possible to alter their size based on the change in subsequent frames in the video being encoded.
