All parts of the British Empire, including Canada, were called upon by “The Mother Country” to help it fight against Germany during World War I. Canadian forces fought very bravely, under Canadian commanders, and there were many famous battles in which Canadians earned honor and glory not only for Great Britain but also for Canada. If you are preparing a propaganda poster, you must choose something that would make young men want to sign up and go to a foreign country to fight for a cause that might seem really removed from them, because Canada is very far removed geographically from Europe, where the war was being fought.

Sir Wilfrid Laurier gave an inspiring speech in which he encouraged young Canadian men to let the enemies of Great Britain know that the Canadians were “behind the Mother Country” and would help her defeat her foes. So, perhaps your propaganda poster could appeal to patriotism. Maybe you could draw a picture of a soldier with a British flag getting bombarded by bombs and bullets from Germany, or getting beat up by a German soldier, and then have a brave and strong-looking Canadian solder with a Canadian flag standing next to the British soldier saying something supportive like, “We’re behind you!” and then have him aiming his gun at the German. I’m sure you can come up with a better idea than this, though!
