Hamlet and Macbeth irony I have to write a 3 to 4 page essay on something common from the plays of Hamlet and Macbeth, using both stories to support it...but i can not make it a compare and contrast paper. Can anyone give me some advice on a conclusion

I think you can make a case that irony is used, but is it the strongest variable?  There is a strong sense of irony in both plays, because in each case the opposite of what the character wants and expects to happen is what happens.

Both plays explore the theme of power and what a person must do to GAIN power and then MAINTAIN it. It would be an interesting paper if you explored Macbeth's motivations with those of Claudius. Both men take strong measures to be king, but what choices do they have to make once they are on the throne? What is the psychological toil (or lack thereof) of each man's actions?
