In The Giver, what events cause Jonas to experience happiness?

Despite the overall message of the book, Jonas does experience happiness a few times in the novel. Many of these instances, however, don't take place in reality. For example, two of these episodes are when he experiences happiness in a dream and through a memory that is not really his.

In Ch. 5 Jonas shares a dream he has had about Fiona. In his dream, it is obvious he is attracted to her. 

"I wanted her to take her clothes off and get into the tub. I wanted to bathe her" (Ch.5).
