Let the length of the rectangle be x and the width y:

Given 2y=x+2 and x+y+2=2x+1

x+y+2=2x+1

y+2=x+1

y+1=x

Substitute into the first equation to get:

2y=(y+1)+2

2y=y+3

y=3

Then 2(3)=x+2 ==> x=4

The dimensions of the rectangle are 4cm by 3cm. The perimeter is found by adding twice the length to twice the width or p=2l+2w=2x+2y=8+6=14

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The perimeter is 14 cm
