Although Cherry Valance is a popular cheerleader, it is obvious that she is attractive to dangerous young men. Her boyfriend is Bob Sheldon, the Soc with the rings who has beaten Johnny so savagely, and who eventually dies when Johnny knifes him while trying to drown Ponyboy. Cherry is attracted to Dallas for the same reasons: Despite his "dirty talk," angry disposition, and complete disregard for the law, these are the things to which Cherry is attracted. She has already heard about Dally and how he looked "hard as nails and twice as tough." Yet,

"I kind of admire him," Cherry said softly...  (Chapter 2)

and she later tells Pony that "I could fall in love with Dallas Winston... I hope I never see him again, or I will." For Cherry, Dallas is a type of forbidden fruit that would draw the ire of her parents and friends, but who would keep Cherry alive with excitement and his brand of danger.

To start off, for some reason, Cherry likes “bad boys.” She isn’t the typical cheerleader that falls in love with the football player Soc, she’s the cheerleader that falls in love with a rough greaser, Dally. Cherry mentions to Ponyboy, “’I could fall in love with Dallas Winston’…’I hope I never see him again, or I will. It is unusual for this to happen because Socs think that greasers are trash with hair that is long, but Cherry thinks Dally is cute and she is almost scared when she realizes she could fall in love with him.

Cherry actually likes Dally in the story. She said [paraphrasing] If she met Dally one more time she would fall in love with him. It's probably because Dallas reminds her of Bob, but doesn't get drunk like he does. Dallas told Ponyboy that he made Cherry their spy for the greasers, which surprised Ponyboy since he thought Cherry hated Dallas since she yelled at him the movie theater.

Cherry likes Dallas because she's attracted to daring men (like Bob). Dallas did not kill himself, he got shot by the police. He was upset because Johnny died and hated his meaningless life. The fire was caused by one of the cigarettes Johnny and Ponyboy carelessly left around at the church. S.E. Hinton had friends like the Greasers and once saw her friend getting beat-up by a Soc. She wrote this story to educate readers about the true life of a teen. Can't help you with the others, sry :D
