to make it easier switch the problem around until it is

`6ax-3x-y+2ay`  now factor them

`(6ax-3x) (2ay-y)` now find what the number together in the parenthesis have in common

`3x(2a-1) y(2a-1)`


and the answer is 

`(3x+y) (2a-1)`
