`cos-x=cos(0-x) `

`cos(0-x)=sin0sinx+cos0cosx=cosx `

Therefore, `cos ` is even

`sec(-x)=1/cos-x `

This equals

`1/cosx=secx `

Therefore, `sec ` is even
