A dramatic monologue is a speech performed by a character in which the audience can learn about the character's feelings and traits.

It is performed when a character is talking to another character or characters.

Do not confuse a dramatic monologue with a soliloquy. A soliloquoy is a speech in which a character speaks to themself.  A dramatic monologue involves a character speaking to other character(s).
