When the grandfather brings a python into the house, chaos ensues. His wife positively loathes reptiles and doesn't want a snake in the house. The grandmother's quite a tolerant woman and has allowed her husband to turn their home into a large menagerie full of strange, exotic animals. But reptiles are a red line for her; even a pretty little chameleon had to be removed from the house.
It's not just that grandmother doesn't like reptiles—she's genuinely concerned that the python, a four-foot youngster, will strangle her husband to death if he gets the opportunity. Suffice to say, Grandfather doesn't agree, so they soon get into a blazing row that disrupts the relative peace and tranquility of their home. The snake has hardly been in the house for more than five minutes, but he's already causing chaos.
But that's not the end of it. Grandfather reluctantly agrees to take the python back to the snake charmer from whom he bought it, but when he goes to fetch the snake from the bathroom where he's been keeping it in a tin tub, he's shocked to discover that it's escaped. Apparently, the old man had forgotten to shut the bathroom window, and the python took the opportunity to make good his escape.
