Greenhouse gases are gaseous compounds in the atmosphere that absorb and emit radiation in the infrared range consequently increasing the thermal status of the area. This phenomenon is called the greenhouse effect.
This group of gases includes, CO2, H2O, methane, N2O and O3. Now due to the advancement in industrialization of the earth, production of these gases is proliferating. As the concentration of greenhouse gases, the thermal effect it can do to the environment will also increase. Increased in the average global temperature is called global warming.
As the average temperature changes, consequences will happen in the global climate. These include change in air current, melting of icebergs at significant amount, variations in sea level, changes in the amount of rain and many more.
