Explain how you think Google’s purchase of Motorola Mobility changes the opportunity for iOS apps. In theory, does this purchase cause you to believe it would be wiser for you to develop on the Android or on the Windows 7 phone?

Google’s purchase of Motorola mobility has little impact in the development of iOS applications. Motorola phones will be running on the android platform and android is already the #1 Smartphone operating system, running hundreds of phone brands. iOS has always catered to a niche crowd and emphasizes brand loyalty and awareness over absolute market share. It should also be pointed out that the android operating system is an open source platform shared among hundreds of companies while iOS is a closed propriety system exclusive to Apple. This gives them the distinct advantage of strict quality controls and ability to monitor and guide their developers and vendors. Development for the iOS system still ensures the greatest potential revenue for your applications and the knowledge that it will work across all apple devices.
