Clarence Mitchell, a former BBC reporter and head of numerous investigations, stepped down from his job as reporter and is helping directly the parents of Madeleine McCann to restore their reputations, which have been distorted by the media in saying that they were responsible for the disappearance of their daughter.

The breach here is that a reporter is obtaining direct information from the family on a confidential way, and he is basically demonstrating with this tie to the family that he superseded the police department. Slowly, the investigation is appearing more like a popularity contest. All the information that the parents are giving this man should be in the hands of an appointed court official, not of a former TV reporter. Even the billionaire CEO of Virgin records offered this family money to defend themselves. This case is going nowhere in case of objectivity and true data.
