I am sure thar eventually our world economy will be strong again, but it is undergoing a connection because the world is changing so much. Due to computers and the Internet, financial changes are almost instantaneous and anyone can get involved. The markets might have been irrational before, but they're really irrational now!

Rises and falls in the stock market tend to be temporary.  The more important issue is the long-term prognosis, which does not seem to be good for many European countries or for any countries with huge indebtedness.  The population of Europe is rapidly aging, and it remains to be seen whether and how countries with long-term unfunded obligations will ever be able to pay for all the benefits that have been promised.

My basic comment is that I hope they are right and that the debt crisis in Europe will pass.  It is kind of scary to see all these countries facing default because it hurts the global economy so much.  We really need good economic news that will give us more confidence and so I really hope the Euro zone debt situation will start to become less of a crisis.

Do you have a more specific question you'd like us to discuss on this issue?
