Edward and his family are vampires. They do not however drink human blood. They are living in the community as “humans” with the younger vampires attending school and Dr. Cullen works at the local hospital while his wife is a “stay at home mom.” The Cullens work, live, and exist in the community of Forks as unobtrusive as possible.
“I’m the world’s best predator, aren’t I? Everything about me invites you in — my voice, my face, even my smell. As if I need any of that.” Edward Cullen, Twilight, Chapter 13, p.263.
“I sat without moving, more frightened of him than I had ever been. I’d never seen him so completely freed of that carefully cultivated facade. He’d never been less human… or more beautiful.” Bella Swan, “Twilight,” Chapter 13, p. 264
Edward and his family are vampires who are pretending to be humans. The younger looking vampires (Edward, Alice, Jasper, Emmet, and Rosalie) are pretending to be High School students, even though, in Edward's case, he has been a vampire since 1918. Esme and Carlisle pretend to be foster parents to the younger-looking vampires who are in High School, and Carlisle works as a doctor at the local hospital. The vampires pretend to be human so that they can live among humans easily. The Cullen family has chosen not to live as normal vampires, that is, they have chosen not to drink human blood. Instead they subsist on a diet of animal blood, and that way they don't have to kill humans.
The really are vampires.
Edward is a vampire but him and his family had to hide it from people inorder for those people to not think of anything wierd about them.
No Edward and the Cullens are truly vampires. They choose to live in a smaller and wetter town so they can act more normal and blend in.
It's really the other way around. Edward and his family are vampires for sure. There's a reason why they choose Forks to live in specifically and it's because it helps them hide the fact that they are vampires and blend in more as humans. If it weren't for Fork's gloomy environment they wouldn't be able to survive as humans.
Edward and the Cullens are real vampires, hiding who they really are in the rainy town of Forks, Washington. When the skies are cloudless, Dr. and Mrs. Cullen (Carlisle and Esme) supposedly take them out of school for outdoor activities, as far as the students know. Really, when they are in sunlight, their skin sparkles, revealing that they are not human. Edward and the family are real vampires.
Edward and his family were all human at one point. But Carlisle turned them into vampires when they were dying. They all live in Forks, Washington and Emmett, Rosalie, Jasper, Alice, and Edward attend Forks High School while pretending to be humans. Jasper is having trouble resisting human blood. The Cullens are not normal vampires. They drink animal blood instead of human blood like most vampires. The Cullens are considered "vegetarians" in the vampire world.
