The BFG doesn't know exactly where the other giants are going, but he knows which countries some of them like to go to eat children. For example, the Bloodbottler states a preference for "Eskimo" children because he says he needs cold meat, as it is the summer. However, as he continues to state, anyone would get bored if they ate the same kind of children all the time; he tells the BFG that today he is going to go to Chile for a bit of a change.

In addition, as the BFG tells Sophie on page 78, giants are careful not to eat too many children from the same country: "They is always switchfiddling around" in order not to raise any suspicions. One day they will go to Panama to eat children who taste of hats, and the next they will go to Turkey to eat children who taste of juicy meat.
