Ancient Egypt cerntainly had religious beliefs. However, today Egypt is primarily Muslim. This means that they believe in the oneness of God (allah) and the teaching of Muhammad. They also have a more individual belief that those who are the most belove of ALlah should be given a special burial (much like the burial of the Pharoahs of old).
Though the mainstream religion is Islam, there are also Christians and Catholics in the region. They believe that Jesus in one in nature--that he is both human and divine.
Each religion is a little different, but for the most part it is difficult to tell the difference between the two. Egyptians are very loyal and the Muslims and Christians follow the same patterns each day. They each have daily prayers, daily devotions, and share many of the same holidays.
