Human technologies have existed for over 10,000 years. There are hundreds of thousands of different technologies, and their effects vary from region to region and from period to period.
There is really no way to argue coherently concerning whether technology is universally beneficial or not, as technology is not monolithic. Instead, certain technologies have helped and certain technologies harmed different societies at different periods. Even within a given society, a specific technology may help some people and harm others. Robotic manufacturing, for example, reduces prices for consumers but causes many workers to lose jobs.
