Not in so many words, but it is hinted at. If Nat has his own boat, and he invites Kit to come aboard, the customs back then would require them to be married. An unmarried couple did not sleep in the same area even if there was a crew aboard to chaperone for suitable behavior. Since Kit has survived the witchcraft trial with Nat's help in getting Prudence to testify in her behalf, Kit knows that Nat cares for her. William will not marry her because she was accused of witchcraft, and he must have a wife with a spotless reputation. I can guarantee that they will marry and have children who know how to swim!
