If a manager has a good grasp on etiquette, he or she will be a good trainer to the server and will, thereby, end up being a good trainer from the customer’s perspective.
A good knowledge of etiquette will help the manager train the server in two ways. First, a good knowledge of etiquette will help the manager be polite to the server during the training process. This will make the server much more receptive to what the manager has to say. Second, a good knowledge of etiquette will mean that the manager will know what to teach the server. In other words, the manager will be able to train the server to act with proper etiquette in all situations. It is this second aspect that will be of benefit to the customer. If the manager knows etiquette, he or she can impart it to the trainee server. When the server learns it, he or she can use it for and while serving the customer. This will improve the customer’s experience in the restaurant.
