Among the many difficulties that can present themselves during a translation one must be ready to face the many cultures and histories throughout each country. For example, when translating idiomatic phrases the hidden meaning of the statement is only known and understood to those people who have the background and similar cultural history. In order to facilitate translation one could benefit from living in several countries that speak the target language in order to better understand the people and what makes them smile, cry and yell.
