Discuss the cult of mediocrity in "Harrison Bergeron."
The setting for this story is a society in which equality is forced on all people by the government. The problem, however, is that if all people are equal, then no one can excel. Unless all people are superior in intellect and ability (the "superman" theory), then all will be average or even worse.
