Describe the result of Kit's conversation with Mr. Kimberley in "Witch of Blackbird Pond".
As a result of her conversation with Mr. Kimberley, Kit is given one more chance to teach at the dame school with Mercy (Chapter 10).
Kit and Mercy are shocked that Mr. Kimberley has changed his mind after Kit goes to talk to him. When he had walked into the chaotic classroom, right in the middle of the bedlam caused when the children got over-excited at being allowed to act out the story of the Good Samaritan, he had been livid. He had dismissed Kit on the spot, sent the children home, and announced that he would "have to consider seriously whether or not Mercy (was) responsible enough to continue" in her position (Chapter 9). The fact that Kit would have the courage to approach him again on the subject must have had an impact on him. Mr. Kimberley listens to what Kit has to say, and finally agrees to let her have one more chance. Mercy is amazed at Kit's audacity. She says, "You certainly must have surprised Mr. Kimberley. He isn't known for changing his mind" (Chapter 10).
